Please note: All weekends start on Friday afternoon and end on Sunday afternoon in 2024.

  • Please note: Call about extending your weekend experience. Some people travel a long way and need to arrive a day early or leave a day later. We try to accommodate your needs.

Friday

*3:00 PM – as soon as possible | Arrival

*Please try to confirm your ETA by the Thursday before your clinic date.

  • Clinic check-in and pay any remaining fees, proof of Coggins needed.
  • Set up camp or check into accommodation
  • Accommodate your horse

4:00 PM – 6:30 PM |Practice stream crossing for first time participants

  • Practice and warm-up for the weekend

*7:00 PM | Dinner (A campfire style meal) and introductory meeting/campfire

*Time will vary as it depends upon when people arrive.

  • Dinner (A campfire style meal will be served)
  • Introductions
  • Orientation: history of and facts about the ranch, information on rotational grazing and moving cattle, explanation of how we will move cattle together,and Q&A
  • Campfire (If weather permits)

Saturday

*6:30 AM | Coffee Available

*8:00 AM |Continental breakfast (fruit, rolls and/or coffee cake) and Morning Gathering (concurrently for all riders and wranglers)

9:30 AM – 12:30 PM | Cattle Drive

*Return time will vary depending on the destination of the drive.

12:30 PM – 1:30 PM | Guests bring their own lunches to our common gathering area. The refrigerators, grill and microwave are available) and Mid-day Gathering

2:00 PM – 6:00 PM | Cattle Drive and afternoon activities Possible Activities

  • Trail riding
  • Roping in the arena
  • Private or small group assessments/lessons
  • Excursion to Vernon Yoder Harness Shop (Amish neighbor)
  • Wagon rides by Lori Olson

*7:00 PM| Dinner (A campfire style meal will be served), Campfire, and Free Time

Sunday

*6:30 AM | Coffee Available

*8:00 AM |Continental breakfast and Morning Gathering (concurrently for all riders and wranglers)

*10:00 AM – 1:00 PM | Cattle Drive (usually to the Devil's Hole)

*Return times may vary

1:00 PM | Guests bring their own lunch to our common gathering area, accessment of the event, feedback & comments and departure. Most people are able to be on the road by 3:00 PM

A little piece of heaven and a whole lot of fun at Devil’s Hole Ranch. An experience we will never forget! Tough trails, moved some big herds of cows, and crossed endless creeks and streams and over tons of downed logs. A lot of history and family pride put into that place!
